Personally, I'm worried about the position of the webcam ...!

Huawei started making personal computers about three years ago. The "MateBook X Pro" released last year was a laptop computer with high specs and a great deal of 149,800 yen (excluding tax, base model).

Huawei Matebook X Pro 2019, which has been newly released after the price increase, seems to have been upgraded quite a bit, although it looks the same. Check out the reviews of Gizmodo reporters who actually used it.

What is this? : 14 inch premium laptop

Price: From 1,600 euros

Favorite place: Gorgeous screen, design.Latest specs

What I don't like: Huawei "OneHop" makes it convenient to share files between your smartphone and PC. Price increase compared to last year's model. SSD allocation is nonsense.

First of all, from the appearance, the Huawei logo is only letters, and there is almost no change in the all-aluminum body.

It was the contents that were greatly upgraded. The CPU is Intel Core i5-8265U installed, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, the latest Nvidia MX 250 GPU, and the Core i7 equipped model has doubled the memory, 16GB, 1TB SSD, MX 250, all with sufficient specifications.

By the way, the price is also rising. It's still awaiting announcement, but it's likely that the Core i5 model will cost $ 1,600 and the i7 will cost between $ 2,000 and $ 2,200. It's approaching a price similar to the Macbook Pro. Regarding this, the model was too cheap last year.

Another big improvement is the faster WiFi speed. It was compatible with 802.11ac wireless LAN and the peak download speed was over 373.6 Mbps. This is a big help, and now you can download PC games from Steam, Blizzard, EA, etc. 20-30% faster, and it also has the advantage of improving browsing stability.

The MateBook X Pro is also Bluetooth 5.0 compliant and has the latest Thunderbolt 3.0 USB-C port. With the latest MX 250 GPU, editing images and videos has become a little more comfortable, and I think it's easier to handle files that tend to be heavy and clumpy.

Unfortunately, 80GB of one built-in SSD is partitioned between Windows 10 and various software. The remaining space is allocated to a large partition for storage of other files.

It might have made sense for laptop partition management when it had small SSDs and large hard disks, but I think it's a bit nonsense now. Was it okay to integrate it into one drive? It seems difficult to return it to the factory.

Other than that, the cooling function has been improved and the behavior of screenshots and screen recordings has also been updated, but as a bigger upgrade, "Huawei Share 3.0" should not be overlooked.

With OneHop included in this, you can share images, videos, and other files between your PC and smartphone. You can use it just by holding your smartphone over the palm rest. However, only EMUI 9 and later versions of Huawei smartphone users can benefit from it, so to speak, only those who are spending money on the Huawei ecosystem ...

The keyboard is much easier to use than any MacBook. The vibrant screen is bright and stunning with a 13.9 inch 3,000 x 2,000 resolution. Battery life is 10 hours and 36 minutes. It's 30 minutes shorter than last year's model, but it's still a long-lasting model.

But to be honest, this year's MateBook X Pro feels a little less exciting due to the price increase.

For example, the latest Dell XPS 13 (unlike the slightly trickier pop-up version of the Matebook X Pro) has a webcam in the right place and is easy to carry as a 13-inch laptop. However, the price range is from $ 900 to $ 1,200 (starting at about 126,980 yen in Japan), which is a great deal.

The MateBook X Pro 2019 is recommended for those who want to enjoy the convenience of having a USB-A port with a brighter and larger screen, even if it is a little pricey.

・ There is almost no change in appearance. Only the logo has changed.

-There are many major changes such as CPU, optional MX 250 GPU, storage capacity increase, Thunderbolt 3 port installed, Bluetooth, WiFi acceleration and so on.

・ Huawei Share is only compatible with the latest Huawei smartphones. At that time, the NFC sticker should not be peeled off.

・ The 13.9 inch 3000 x 2000 pixel screen is very nice.
