Exactly one year ago, on March 16, 2018, I posted an article on Huawei `` nova lite 2'' corresponding to the previous model, but if you have not read it yet, please read it before reading this article if possible. I want you to.
First of all, the looks of the photos posted are nostalgic and retro. It's a classic type before the notch, and the panel is small. In addition, it is compatible with aperture with a double lens, but the keyword AI is not found anywhere, and the image is light in color and mediocre.
The HUAWEI "nova lite 3" introduced this time makes me wonder if it will evolve so much in just one year. If there is a negative factor, I wonder if the price, which was around 25,980 yen, has become more comfortable at 26,880 yen. The main specifications are as follows.

The SoC is HUAWEI Kirin 710, which has an octa-core (2.2GHz A73 x 4 + 1.7GHz A53 x 4) configuration. Compared to the previous model Kirin 659, it claims more than 75% performance with a single core and more than 68% with a multi-core. However, NPU is not installed, and AI-related processing is performed by the CPU.
Memory is 3GB and storage is 32GB. The OS is Android 9 + EMUI 9.0.1. The old model was EMUI 8.0 (based on Android 8.0), so it's new.
The display is about 6.21 type 2,340 x 1,080 dots (19.5: 9). 5.65 type 2,160 x 1,080 dots (18: 9), so it's a good scale-up. In addition, a drop-shaped notch is used, and the screen occupancy rate is 89%. As you can see in terms of design, it's modern.
There are two nanoSIM card card slots that support DSDV and dual VoLTE (including au VoLTE), and the compatible bands are as shown in the table. In addition, it is said that au VoLTE support will be based on future software updates.
The network is IEEE 802.11b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.2 in addition to the previous nanoSIM. The Bluetooth codec seems to be compatible with SBC / AAC / aptX (HD) / HWA when I checked it in the settings / developer options (aptX HD confirms the connection).
The interface is Micro USB, microSDXC card, 3.5mm earphone jack. The microSD card is exclusive with SIM2 and has a maximum of 512GB. The sensor is equipped with acceleration, compass, ambient light, proximity, fingerprint authentication, GPS, GLONASS, and AGPS. However, there is no NFC. The only thing that doesn't seem to be modern is that USB is Micro instead of Type-C.
The camera has 16 million pixels on the front and f / 1.8 13 million pixels on the back + 2 million pixels (for depth measurement). The biggest difference is that the front camera has doubled the number of pixels, which makes selfies stronger and AI compatible on both the front and back. Anyone will be able to take beautiful pictures more easily.
The size is about 73.4 x 155.2 x 7.95 mm (width x depth x height), and the weight is about 160 g. It has a built-in battery of about 3,400mAh and comes in three colors: Aurora Blue, Coral Red, and Midnight Black. The estimated retail price excluding tax is 26,880 yen. It feels better than the previous model, but is it convincing if this is the only difference?
Front. A drop-shaped notch is provided on the center of the panel to place the front camera. Although you can't tell from the photo, the status LED that indicates charging etc. is on the back slightly to the left of the lower center. The color is Aurora Blue. The rear camera is on the upper left. The lower side is the color sensor. Fingerprint sensor left / bottom slightly above the center. There is nothing on the left side, 3.5mm earphone jack on the bottom side, USB2.0 (Micro-B), monaural speaker right / top. NanoSIM / microSDXC card slot on the top side. Volume ± button and power button on the right side near the nanoSIM slot. SIM1 on the back and nanoSIM (SIM2) / microSDXC card accessories on the front. Case, earphone, eject pin, USB AC adapter (approx. 4.7 x 3.7 x 2.2 cm / 47 g / 5V2A), USB cable Weight is actually 161 g Compared to iPhone X. It is as high as the panel size and has a little width. The thickness is a little thick, but it is almost the same.Brightness is a visual measurement, but up to about half of the iPhone XThe housing is metallic with a 3D curved design. It's a modern design. The size is about 73.4 x 155.2 x 7.95 mm (same as above) and the weight is about 160 g, so the balance when you hold it is quite good.
The front is a drop-shaped notch on the center of the panel. Although you can't tell from the photo, the status LED (green) that indicates charging etc. is slightly to the left of the lower center. In addition, a screen protection film is attached as standard, and this time I am using it as it is, including taking pictures.
The color of the back is Aurora Blue. The rear camera is on the upper left. The bottom is the color sensor. There is a fingerprint sensor just above the center.
There is nothing on the left side, 3.5mm earphone jack, USB, monaural speaker on the lower side. NanoSIM / microSDXC card slot on the top side. The volume ± button and power button are located on the right side. The nanoSIM slot is SIM1 on the back side and nanoSIM (SIM2) / microSDXC card on the front side.
Accessories include a soft case, earphones, eject pin, USB AC adapter (approx. 47 x 37 x 22mm / 47g / 5V2A), and USB cable.
The display is about 6.21 type 2,340 x 1,080 dots. A drop-shaped notch is used and the screen occupancy rate is 89%. Recently, narrow frames are popular, but this degree is just right, and if the occupancy rate rises further, the screen will cover the finger you hold and it will be difficult to see (put it in a case to prevent this, etc.).
The color development doesn't bother me when I look at this unit alone, but compared to high-end devices such as the iPhone X, the color is a little lighter and the contrast is shallower (probably a little better if I remove the protective film). The maximum brightness is bright enough, but it's about half as visually as the iPhone X. However, the quality is more than enough considering the price.
It also has a "vision protection mode", the so-called blue light cut. When turned on, the color temperature can be adjusted from cool to warm, but it is quite yellow anyway.
Of course there is no noise or vibration. Fever is also acceptable, although it gets a little warmer when the video is played continuously for a long time. It's a pity that the sound is monaural, but the bass is also moderately out, and the vocals come out in front. In addition, it has power and is noisy even with an output of 50%. However, it is a little distorted at the maximum. The earphone output has a pyramid-shaped balance and power. However, is it a little rough in general?
What is interesting about sound is that it also supports "HUAWEI Party mode", which allows you to synchronize and play music on up to eight smartphones on Wi-Fi in the same segment. By specifying the position of each terminal, the surround effect can also be obtained.
Overall, the price is less than 30,000 yen including tax, which is an unbelievable level including the camera described later. Compared to the high-end, the ara is conspicuous as it is, but the cost performance is quite high.
