First of all, what is "VUI" is "Voice User Interface".
Utilizing AI to recognize and understand the interface and audio by voice, answer questions, convert text to audio, replace all information, and enable dialogue between computers and people.increase.It is one of the latest technologies in the familiarity that communicates using "voice", which is a natural communication for humans.
For example, as represented by smartphones and smart speakers, terminals equipped with assistant functions in audio have begun to spread, and in addition to the touch interface on the screen, a voice input interface has also appeared.
Along with this, the area of the target of “design” is expanding not only the screen but also the entire experience including audio.
The "natural language" used by people has become possible to understand and react to the appropriate conversation according to the context due to the progress of machine learning.
VUI is also used in various scenes.There are more opportunities to see scenes that automatically respond with AI, such as robots and smart speakers equipped with VUI in the city.Improving the accuracy of AI assistance mounted on a smartphone and the spread of wireless earphones is one of the factors that promotes the action of talking to AI.
Typical examples of VUIs nearby include iPhone's "Siri" and Android's "Google Assistant", and smart speakers include Apple's "HomePod Mini" and Amazon Alexa.
We call, set alarms and timers, navigation to destinations such as maps, check weather and traffic information, play music, turn on/off room electricity, etc.It supports users.
It depends on the content and length of the text you want to do, but the speed of voice input on the mobile device is faster than the text input, so you can take action faster.
In text input in Japanese, there are differences in the input speed due to complicated input and conversions such as kanji, katakana, full -width half -width, etc., but audio input reduces complicated operation and search time by text input, instantaneously.It makes it possible to operate.
Basically, you can input without using your hands, such as tapping the screen, so you can respond even if you cannot continue to touch or are far away.By replacing it with a voice input, it can be operated even while driving a car or during cooking that is hard to touch due to wet hands.I also use it in the timer setting during cooking.
In the physical aspects, not only smartphones and speakers, but also many smart refrigerators with speech functions added to the refrigerator.
Since it is as close as possible to the "conversation with people" that we usually do, the learning cost is basically lower than that of smartphones and PC text input and swipe operation.Once you get used to speaking with voice, you can input input very quickly.
The fact that users can learn how to use it immediately means reducing the hesitation in the operation, so it is possible to lower the barrier when operating for the first time.
