On July 1, 2021, Kokuyo announced the conference terminal "MAXHUB", which is equipped with three functions: web conferencing, whiteboard, and presentation. In anticipation of post-corona, we will develop it as a solution to improve the conversion of office communication to DX. The price is open.

MAXHUB is a conference terminal that integrates everything from a display, camera, microphone, and Windows-based PC. Since it is an all-in-one type, once the initial settings are completed, the meeting can be started as soon as the power is turned on, without the need to connect a PC.
There are two lineups with display sizes of 65 inches and 86 inches, both of which boast a high 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160. The display is a touch panel that can be used as a whiteboard, and you can write with a pen or your finger. Multimedia files such as images and videos can be inserted into the board, and can be saved in PDF or JPEG format at the end of the meeting.

As functions for web conferencing, it is equipped with a 48-megapixel high-resolution camera, a high-performance array microphone that can pick up sound up to 8 meters away, and a speaker zoom-in function. Web conferencing can be realized with a high sense of presence, and tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams can be freely selected. Also, by using the included dongle and app, you can share up to 6 screens at the same time and use it for presentations.
Next, Mr. Nagai presented a talk session on the conference with Mr. Takahiro Sakamoto, a work style reform project advisor in the Kokuyo Work Style Innovation Department. Mr. Sakamoto pointed out that web conferencing, which was almost non-existent until now, has increased dramatically since the corona crisis, and rather has been chased by web conferencing. Mr. Sakamoto said, "Kokuyo's employees are now in a situation where they have web conferences wherever they like, and web conferences whenever they feel like it. There are too many web conferences, and the work has become tight."

In fact, according to the company's research, each person spends 30 hours a month on web conferencing, and nearly 30 people spend more than 100 hours a month. Under these circumstances, when asked, "Do you want to increase the number of web conferences?", 92% of respondents said no.
The reason why the number of web conferences has increased so far is that "the number of discussions and decisions has increased." Mr. Sakamoto, who is in a position to advise on work style reform, including how to hold meetings, said, ``Japan is a country with many meetings. It just increased," he said. Looking at the current situation where the number of inefficient meetings has increased due to the emergence of convenient web conferencing, Mr. Sakamoto asks, "Are we transforming even though we are using IT?" .
On that point, MAXHUB, which can be used as an all-in-one for web conferences, whiteboards, presentations, etc., is said to enhance the effectiveness of meetings with the power of digital, assuming use in the office. It's easy to use, and "if you're used to iPad or Windows, you can use it immediately" (Mr. Nagai), and it has the effect of increasing digital literacy and curiosity. Mr. Nagai appealed, "We will promote the DX conversion of office communication with products that aim for the best specs and designs. In the future, the office will be a place to create new values and experiences. I want MAXHUB to be the catalyst for that." .
