"U-ROUTE" released by ONE COMPATH
U-ROUTE is a cycle compass app that does not dare to indicate the route to the destination, with the aim of allowing users to encounter and enjoy "unusual roads and scenery" by pottering. Attached to the handlebar of a bicycle and specifying a destination on the map, only the direction and distance to the destination are displayed. Users can enjoy pottering actively running on unusual roads such as side streets and back alleys. It also has a road map display function, but again it does not show a specific route.
Attach it to the steering wheel and go. Only the direction and distance to the destination are displayed, so users can choose their favorite route and run (image from U-ROUTE site)
Basically, you can start using the service simply by setting a destination, but you can also set intermediate points (up to 5) along the way. You can run more smoothly by using points that must be passed along the route, such as bridges and railroad crossings, as waypoints.
ONE COMPATH's corporate vision is to be a "one mile innovation company" that aims for innovation in everyday life and familiar situations. This is the first service born from the creation system “POM (Plus One Mile)”. It was invented by an employee who loves bicycles, and has been developed and tested with the support of the company.
The app can be downloaded for free from the App Store and does not require membership registration (currently iOS version only, Android version is under development). In the future, ONE COMPATH hopes to develop paid services such as pottering route log storage functions and in-app communication functions.
