On November 28th (local time), Zoom Video Communications released the latest version v5.8.6 of the client application of the online video conference software "Zoom". This version was originally scheduled to be released on November 22nd. The Windows version is now available as a free download from the company's website. The mobile version (iOS / Android) is also available in each app store.

As a new feature in the meeting, the ability to operate presentation slides by participants has been added. Previously, only the user who announced the slide could operate the slide, but other participants can also operate it freely.

The slide operation function supports presentations of "Google Slides", "PowerPoint", and "Keynote", and administrators and users can use it from the "Zoom" website from the account level, group level, or user level setting screen. Can be enabled. For example, at the user level, you can turn on the [Slide operation] option on the [Account]-[Meeting (basic)] screen on the setting screen of the "Zoom" website.

A feature has also been added that allows meeting hosts to spotlight themselves using the attendee list menu. Everything can be controlled in one place, without competing with existing spotlight features available to other participants.

The functionality of the smart gallery has also been enhanced. For example, all participants in a meeting could be moved together to the breakout room. You can also send chat messages during a meeting to the room where the meeting is taking place, rather than to individual participants.

Other features include automatic app updates and automatic update frequency settings, Turkish and Polish support, enhanced security and minor bug fixes.
