The vintage mechanical typewriter-style keyboard "Qwerkywriter" is looking for funding on crowdfunding Kickstarter.
Platen knobs etc. are also made to work
A USB-connected 85-key English keyboard, a tablet stand that mimics the paper roll of a mechanical typewriter, and a vintage design with chrome-like accents everywhere.
Keytops with chrome metal perimeters
In terms of hardware, it is a simple USB keyboard that uses Cherry MX mechanical key switches (blue axis), and the round key tops are compatible with Cherry MX key tops. In mechanical typewriters, the return bar and platen knob for paper feeding can be used as programmable macro keys.
The key switch is Cherry MX, which has a feeling of keystrokes that is popular with heavy users such as gamers.
Minimum price to get one is $289 (+$75 for international shipping). Scheduled to ship in August 2015. Upon request, blank key tops that can be replaced by the user and Windows/Macintosh key layouts are available. A Bluetooth model is also planned in the future.
The body is a tablet stand, which gives it a steampunk feel.
