Everyone's mobile phone
While winter models were released one after another, I picked up the docomo version of the "Galaxy Note 10+."
Galaxy Note 10+ purchased as a winter modelI wasn't sure whether to use Google's "Pixel 4 XL" or Note 10+, which was the final candidate for replacement, but I wanted to use S-pen handwriting, and it was compatible with ultra-wide-angle cameras. I chose Note 10+ in consideration of the design when I saw it in. The latest terminal is Huawei's "P20 Pro", and I have lived a life without an S pen for over a year, but it is still convenient that the terminal has a built-in pen. If you think about it, you can take notes immediately, which is a user experience that can only be done with the Galaxy Note series.
However, as you can see, the S pen is thin. It can't be helped because it has to be stored in the terminal, but the grip is poor due to its thinness, and it is a drawback that your hands get tired if you take notes for a long time. I didn't feel that much before, but maybe it's because I'm used to the thickness of the Apple Pencil. It's good for taking notes quickly, but it's not suitable for sitting down and proofreading.
The writing comfort of the S pen is very good.It ’s a point that makes a big difference from other smartphones. That's why we introduced the LAMY S pen, which is familiar with ballpoint pens and fountain pens. It's a bit exaggerated to say that it was introduced, but this S pen was actually distributed as a novelty at the presentation of the Galaxy Note 10 series held in New York, USA. I remember laughing bitterly saying, "You can buy the main unit ...", but I saved it for the time being, so I decided to use it when the Galaxy Note 10+ was introduced. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be on the market in Japan, but according to Yasuhiro Yamane, who is familiar with this series, it seems that a pen or a set with a case is sold in South Korea, which is Samsung's knee.
It is thick enough and has a dent in the place where your finger touches, so it is very easy to hold compared to the attached S pen. When I write with this, I feel that the characters have improved. Somehow. The ease of use is probably like a long-established stationery maker. In Japan, S-pen in collaboration with Staedtler Noris was sold in the past, but I felt that LAMY's S-pen should be considered for sale. As the S Pen is a strong selling point for the Galaxy Note series, I would like to see more options for third parties.
I tried using LAMY's S pen distributed at the recitalBy the way, if the Galaxy Note10 + is standard, it will not recognize the S pen when it is stored. This is to save power consumption. In other words, if the attached S pen is stored in the main body, you cannot use LAMY's S pen. To solve this, you need to change the settings. Settings can be made by turning on "Use multiple S pens" in "Settings" → "Advanced functions" → "S pens". However, as a side effect, the display is always in a state of accepting the S pen, which increases power consumption.
It is possible to always accept the S pen by settingTherefore, I created a shortcut on the home screen so that this setting can be easily turned on and off. Hopefully, the button on the status bar can be turned on and off in one shot, but unfortunately there is no such setting. I would like you to expand the number of third-party S pens and review the usability around the settings.
I also tried the greatly improved OCR feature of the Galaxy Notes app. Handwritten characters are converted to fonts quickly with a tap, and the usability is much better than before. However, when asked if I would use it regularly, the answer is no. Although the recognition rate is high, characters written in a hurry are still indistinguishable, and there are many erroneous conversions. Even though it is faster, it takes time to convert line by line.
Galaxy Notes app with fast conversion, but scribbles are still hard to recognizeIf it's about a memo, it's faster and more accurate to retype it yourself based on the handwriting. I can tolerate some typographical errors, so I felt that it would be more practical if there was a function like batch conversion. However, it is convenient enough to search for handwritten notes by keyword. This function comes in handy when you want to pull out the memo you need later. Since it seems that the function can be improved by updating the application side, I would like to expect future evolution.
